(Anybody else vaguely remember a short period of time in the '80s when Herb Alpert was declared cool because he was working with Janet Jackson, and suddenly he was everywhere, regaling us with True Tales of A&M Records and endlessly fascinating interviewers with the fact that there never was a group called The Tijuana Brass? Or was I just suffering a fever?)
